What we did on the station for our birthdays would be sufficient. Card games, board games, the like. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what other games would be appropriate for this time, but perhaps the locals will suggest some ideas if any of them attend.

I am burning all my failed attempts at writing one. I was told that all I needed to do was spout nonsense about flowers and the color of my eyes, but there are no grey flowers to match my eyes. And while I may have interest in chemical elements like mercury or iron, I doubt those are common lines in a love letter.

I suppose that would have fewer layers of subterfuge and wouldn't require me to artificially age the letter. I would just need to... figure out how I'd write a love letter to someone who doesn't exist.

[It's the night following the Quicksand Incident. After they're back at the cave, and they've all individually nursed their wounded prides and gotten cleaned up, Ryunosuke will eventually make his way around to wherever Yujin is sitting... Presumably in front of one of the fires, since it's after dark. He approaches, smiling a little awkwardly, his thick winter travel cloak draped over his shoulders.]

[He doesn't need to be asked twice. Yujin scoots over to make space for Ryunosuke by the crackling fire. The desert heat's traded out for a chilly night at remarkable speed-- as far as he's concerned, this is the best seat in the house. After the Incident, they both deserve it.
Yujin gazes out the mouth of the cave and up into the vast expanse of sand and sky. With his own sheepish smile, he glances back to Ryunosuke:]
